Neuropathic pain
Despite current availability of large numbers of analgesics drugs, management of chronic pain is still a challenge. Botox has shown efficacy in a large number of painful conditions. Only the treatment of a chronic migraine with Botox injections is approved by Nice.
The others indications are currently considered off-label, although for several of them, the available literature already strongly suggests efficacy:
- mainly post herpetic neuralgia,
- post-traumatic neuralgia,
- trigeminal neuralgia
- and painful diabetic neuropathy.
